its baaaaaaaaackkkkk!!!!!!
Welcome back to Round 9 of #TheMessyProject!!! If you are new around here & have yet to hear about the project, you can check out all the info HERE..... but here's just a quick little intro to help you get more acquainted to the project ---->
oh man when I sent the item to the girls, boy were they surprised....& nervous. I wanted to get something that I had been seeing everywhere I went. It was a trend that I certainly did not want to try but since #TheMessyProject is all about stepping outside of your comfort zone I decided to just go for it.
This item touches on 2 trends in 1 - pattern & harem pants ----
not sure what 'Harem' pants are? Well just think of MC Hammer back in his 'Running Man' days....yeah those pants
so you could imagine the looks on the girls faces when they open their package....this was even a challenge for me....& when I put the pants on myself, I wasn't happy either.
I actually hated them. They were high waisted, baggy in the wrong places & tight around my ankles. I didn't even know where to start....of course I could've put on a black top and called it day but what fun is that? And not very challenging......SO i took an even bigger risk & decided to touch on another trend I wasn't a fan of....
mixing prints.

so as you can I see I wanted to mix patterns but not get too crazy with colors so I stayed within the black/white theme & added a sheer white blouse with skulls. Since the pants are a little high waisted I decided instead of tucking my shirt in I would tie the two fonts in a knot, another trend I have been seeing lately....& to spice up the look I decided not to wear a black or white tank underneath, just a black lace bra. The pants came with a matching cloth belt, but I took it off & used a skinny black belt instead.
The pants got skinny at the end & I wasn't feeling the tight look of it so I rolled them up a bit & added my black heels.....my hair is so messy & dirty...it was over a week since I had done anything to it when I took these pics....embracing the mess.

Because these pants had such an 80s feel....I drenched myself in gold jewelry, which consisted of lots of various gold bracelets on both wrists, different length necklaces & large gold hoops.
So after taking my pictures & looking at them....to be honest I am still not a fan of the pants or the mixing of prints. I don't know if I will ever like mixing prints as I believe when it comes to style less is more.
The pants I just can't get use to & feel they would look much better on someone taller. Yet, mixing the pants with just a plain black or white top I believe I would feel differently about them. However, it was fun to try something I never thought I would try.
What do you think of the pants? Are you a fan of mixing prints?
