ok before i go into today's fashion post i have a funny story i just have to tell you...so i was driving home last night from work, sitting in traffic...i was just driving along listening to my music & enjoying my Starbucks cool lime refresher when i look to my right...& a piece of crap old grey car pulls up next me...there was a shaggy haired boy wearing big black sunglasses who looked about my age in the car....he looks at me & all of a sudden he holds up a sign in bold letters that reads "Show me your Tits!"..oh yes you read that right....i was dying of laughter..so much so that i accidentally spit my drink all over me...i looked at him, with my hand over my mouth still laughing & shook my head no...he then proceeded to point to the sign with a come on look...again I laughed while shaking my head no...clearly it wasn't gonna happen so he gave me the hang loose hand gesture & drove off into another lane looking for his next victim...i was still dying of laughter....only in California...

ok moving on...so its no secret i love music. classic rock to be exact. i live for music. whether i am driving in my car, cleaning my room or at the office my music is always blasting....just to name a few of my favorites - The Beatles, Zeppelin, Crosby Seals & Nash, Hall & Oats, Elton John...i could go on. so have you seen the movie Almost Famous? well if not please stop reading this post & go rent it RIGHT THIS SECOND...you can thank me later....for those of you who have, penny lane - yeah I wish i was her..on top of me wishing i was a hippy, being a band groupie has always been a fantasy too...& not a groupie in toady's music, back in the 60s & 70s....

back in high school i was SO that girl who went to concerts all the time & followed all the underground bands...back in the day we called them EMO....some of my favs were Saves the Day, Julianna Theory, Get Up Kids, Dashboard Confessional, Something Corporate (still my absolute favorite)...those kinda bands

 So a lot of my style & the looks i put together are inspired by that rocker look..i like to call it Rocker Chic ...i have a fun pinterest board dedicated to my love of rock & roll called I'm with the band....with inspirations to add some Rockto your outfits...

Originally that was a top I got from a good friend of mine, but since I am such a shorty I decided to pair it with leggings & turn it into a tunic....I cannot tell you the amount of times I am shopping & a girl picks up a longer shirt & goes "what on earth would I wear with this?! its so long"....ladies, either tuck it in with some high waisted jeans or pair it with some leggings...just because the shirt is extra long doesn't mean you have to pass on it...one of my favorite looks is a long top over leggings - its comfy, easy & chic....& i know a lot of people do not think leggings are pants, & you're right but with the right top or dress they can be pants...try it sometime & have some fun!

take a risk...

helllllo lovers!! Happy August! Can you believe we're almost done with summer?!? I cannot wait for fall!!...So a few weeks ago I went to LA with my mom & sis to visit a friend of ours. It was your typical LA day - sun, lunch, & shops!

we went to visit my good friend Amanda, whom I met while we were both working at Nordstrom...well for my birthday Amanda got me the CUTEST outfit...to be honest Amanda is probably the only person I have met who can buy me clothes that I'll actually keep & wear...she just knows my look!

One of my favorite things when Amanda gets me clothes is she always has me step outside of my fashion box & try something new. Amanda stuck with the hot trend & got me some adorable mint frayed shorts & normally with these shorts I would put a plain white tank/tee but Amanda likes me to take a little risk so she got me a peach tank to go with the shorts, to make this a color on color look. Now as you know my style is trendy but classic...but as usual amanda did a PERFECT job & I'm obsessed with my outfit!

I love how she went with a peach color tank to wear with the mint shorts & I added a white tank to break up the color a bit

with just a few quick changes...

Happy Monday lovers!!! Today starts my 4th of July holiday vacation!!! Hollar! So I'm off today through Thursday! I could not be more excited! Today's post is a guest post that I wrote a few weeks ago for another blog & I actually really loved the way this post turned out so I wanted to share it with you guys incase you never got to see it...& im sorry for the repeat if you have read this post!  

Soooo have you ever been out all day & then the day continues into the night but you're still wearing your day time clothes with nothing to change into to make the outfit a little more night time appropriate? Well today I am going to show you 3 simple outfits that can go from day to night with a few quick changes. & in these pictures I am on day 5 of no washing or even brushing my hair.....

So here we have a typical day time outfit...destroyed jeans, flip flops & a white tank...pretty plain Jane, yet one of my favorite outfits to wear....perfect for a day at the mall or a walk on the beach....so let's take this simple day time outfit & give it a night time feel...

 Still wearing the exact same jeans & tank top all I did to spice the outfit up was add a black blazer, some heels & a clutch...perfect for a date night....just a few certain items can change the whole dynamic of an outfit...plus I feel adding black to anything will dress it up

This dress is defiantly more of a dressier look but I toned it down with some flat sandals & added a jean jacket...the dress is a little short so adding the leggings also tones it down...but lets dress it up by taking away a few things....

 So I lost the jacket & the leggings so the dress will be a short mini again, added some short boots, a Chanel crossover....& you're ready for a night out on the town.

Another casual outfit, very simple....hair up, jeans, a tank, & some canvas shoes...nothing to flashy, but perfect for a day of running errands....also if you currently don't own a pair of TOMS please invest in a pair asap...they are SO comfortable & light weight, you will never want to take them off. Plus when you buy a pair they give a pair of shoes to a child in need.....
so here we go again day to night...

Still wearing the exact same jeans & tank all I did was take my hair down & pull the front back. I added a statement necklace & some bangles. Some high black boots & a Patent Leather purse for some extra shine.....& you're ready for a night out at a concert or dinner with friends. As you can see I wear the same white tank top with everything. Never underestimate the power of a white tank.

Again, nothing much was really changed with any of these outfits, I didn't have to take anything off to make it more night appropriate...with just a few accessory changes you can literally change anything from day to night. But always remember less is more.
