#TheMessyProject -----> Into the Desert

wow! can you believe this is the 10th project?! So exciting!

SO If you are new around here & have yet to hear about the project, you can check out all the info HERE..... but here's just a quick little intro to help you get more acquainted to the project  ----> 

so this round I tired a piece that I felt most people would like and would most likely buy. For one it can be worn a lot of different ways and two I really loved the girly but also rocker feel it had to it. I always love buying clothes that can be dressed up or down & I thought this was one of those pieces.

SO i decided to go with this longer in the back floral tank tunic with a stud collar

so for some reason to me this tunic had such a festival, Coachella feel to it and since it is Coachella time & everyone around me is going I decided to turn this tunic into something you would wear to Coachella or a music festival 

{ sidenote: Coachella is a weekend long musical festival in the desert....is a socal thing }

so as you can see I decided to tie the tunic on the side to give it a more shorter, edger look. Then I added my classic destroyed jean shorts. I chose to pair the tunic with destroyed shorts rather than plain to add to the edgy look....& instead of wearing a tank underneath I just decided to wear my black lace bra

my favorite part of the outfit is my shoes....instead of just wearing the usual flip-flops or gladiators I decided to spice it up with my new suede Dolce Vita booties. I am obsessed with these shoes. Not only are they adorable, but they are SO comfortable. Plus they have such a desert feel to them which I love....& of course no Coachella outfit is complete without tons of mixed bracelets & a hippy head band.   

 SO Do you like the tunic tied up? What do you think of the desert booties with it? How would you have styled the tunic...I would LOVE to know!

where are your manners?

i feel like as time goes on manners and etiquette just seem to get worse. I don't know about you but having good manners was something that my sister & I were taught very early on & its something that has stayed with us our entire lives...I can proudly say I have wonderful manners & it drives me crazy that the kids nowadays just seem to lack it. 

It got me thinking, there are just certain things in life no matter what we should always do, like say thank you or open a door for others....so i put together a small list of things I think no matter what are ALWAYS a good idea ----

Be polite

Have a sober driver

Listen

Floss

Wash your hands after the bathroom

Cover your mouth when u cough

Replace the toilet paper roll if you finish it off

Hold the door open for someone

Help others

Eat your veggies

Say I love you

Have 'me' time

Respect your elders

Be honest

Admit when you're wrong

Tip your server

Listen before you judge

what are some things you think people should always do? 

Another thing that I think people should always do is be open to meeting new people, which is why blogging is so great because its a wonderful way for us to meet new people and learn about how others live....& today I have a girl who I have really enjoyed getting to know through blogging. I think what impresses me the most about her is how she teaches HIGH SCHOOL. I love kids don't get me wrong, but teaching high school is a whole other world. I really enjoy reading about her classes and what she does with her students. She's so full of life and I can tell she is so much fun to be around. So without further ado meet ---

I'm Bonnie and writing nonsense is my game. Sometimes I get in trouble for what I write, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Some call me Bonnarrhea and some call me Bon Bon Sexy Pants, but you can just call me Bonnie. Or Bon. Whatevs.

 I write over at Life of Bon where life is always a party. The husband's name is Greg and I've been told I would be a fool for letting the internet Gods know my husband's name because now they can steal our identities and invade our home, GASP! 

Therefore, to protect us from cyber devils and because it seems somehow hip I have named him Hubs. During the day I teach high school English to ungrateful seventeen year olds who have somehow completely stolen my heart. Ain't that always the way it is with ingrates?!? 

I'm an avid reader, a hopeless romantic, and a terrible driver. (I once got two speeding tickets in twenty minutes- ouch!) I write mostly about failed attempts to yank underwear off of mannequins, awkward visits to gynecologists, and absurd things that come out of the mouths of the hoodlum students.

This is me with a lot of differnt hairstyles.  Truly riveting, I know!

Super Rich but Dumb or Super Smart & Poor.  I'll take a combination of the two...  Dumb and Poor... er... I mean rich and smart baby!

Thong or Booty Shorts.  Thong.  (I am praying my students don't somehow find this and read it.)

Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood  Carrie Underwood.  Before He Cheats should be the personal anthem of every American woman!

Pierced nose or pierced lip.  Nose

Sex or foreplay.  Who says I can't have both?

California or New York:  Cali.  Hello sun.

Sleep in PJS or Naked:  Pjs all the way.  I live in Utah.  I would freeze if I slept in the nude!

Hello There Beloved Reader,
My name is Noël Maria... I can't give you my last name because my mom told me not to :) I started to blog as an outlet to the outside world when I was at home with babies crawling all over my floor. I had 4 babies 6 and under at one point. That was 7 years ago. Yes, my blog is old. And No, my blog does not take offense to you calling it old. Well, so now those babes are teenagers and tweeners and as time has gone by I have come to love, I mean really love blogging. I could, and do on a regular basis, blog about EVERYTHING!
Well, except for things I wouldn't talk about with my mom... which is just like bedroom stuff between me and My Giant. He's a biggun at 6'4, tall, not so much dark (cause he's Scottish/English) but OH SO HANDSOME(at least to me anyway). The time has come.

 I know you have been hearing about The Messy Project for some time now & today it is revealed!

So first off what is The Messy Project? Well.....

I can look at a top & style it completely different than someone else would… & to me that’s cool. 

One of the main reasons I love fashion is because you can make it your own. Everyone can have the same exact clothes but the way you style & wear it, is your choice. It gives you a chance to express your inner fashonista

 I know from my personal styling experience that a lot of people have trouble styling certain items. They may look at a top & instantly think, "I can't wear that...what would I do with that?" 

So I wanted to find a fun way to interact with other bloggers incorporating fashion help. Something to convey who we are. To show our style. To put our creative minds to work. To express our inner Fashionista. To show people the different ways to style an item depending on your body type & you.

So The Messy Project was born.

So here’s the top that was sent to the first 4 girls of The Messy Project. They were told to do whatever they wanted with the top. There are no rules.

Since I wish I was a hippy I decided to take this blouse & turn into a 70s look. So here’s how I styled it:

As you can see I decided to tuck the top in & wear it with my lighter colored bell bottom jeans. Back in the 70s they wore their jeans a little higher than we do now, so these jeans have the perfect high waist look. I then added a plain thick brown belt & my wood platforms to add to my hippy vibe.

As far as accessories go I wanted to keep with my theme so I added some plain gold bangles, a few large gold rings, large gold hoops & no hippy is complete without a headband..preferably leather or flowers
