happy friday lovely's! so I went to the Doctor. Thankfully I went in time because my cough could have turned into phenomena. So I have been put on antibiotics & one of them makes me nauseous ....so I am not a happy camper right now.....but in other news I finished a new blog design for the hilarious Sarah over at Hot Mess Mommie. Seriously girls, I didn't know her until I started working with her on her blog & OMG she is a riot. She had me laughing daily. So I love painting my nails. I really wish I was more talented with my nails & could do cool designs like I see on pinterest. But I'm not. I wanted to try something different so I decided to try the nail 'ombre' trend. I have seen it a few times on pinterest & i really liked the way it turned out so I figured why not. I decided to go with a green ombre. The picture doesn't really do justice, it actually looks better in person. But what do you think?

Hey guys!!! My name is Vicki and I blog over at My Vickilicious Life.  I'm from NYC - But don't let my blog name or my hometown fool you, I am not that exciting ;) I'm a bit of a homebody and any given moment you can usually find me: blogging, reading, surfing the net, watching television, tweeting or any combination of those things.  I'm really just your average twenty-something (well at least I am for the next five months and then I turn the big 3-0 ... ahhh - still trying to come to grips with that fact LOL).  My blog is really just a compilation of all things on my mind.

I love handmade and different things, especially when it comes to jewelry   I'm an Etsy junkie, literally I could get lost for hours just browsing all of the different shops ... sometimes it takes some serious willpower for me to not go "click" happy (ie: max out my credit cards on new arm candy LOL).  One of my favorite Etsy shops is Botny ... I am soooo addicted to their earrings.  I think I have about ten pairs and I am forever wanting more and new colors!!! I think they are the perfect little accent to any outfit!!! Its your last day on earth - what do you do? 

Oh, wow ... this is hard.  Like I legit just sat here for fifteen minutes planning the perfect last day in my head.   I definitely  I would want to be able to be surrounded by the people most important to me.  I think I would want to throw a party with all the people I love and just dance & eat & drink and have a good ol' time ... and then end the night with alone time with the boyfriend ...

What is your favorite thing about living in New York?  

Christmas time! I love Christmas in NY.  There is something so magical about it, I cannot even explain exactly what it is.  That and the food -  virtually anything your heart desires is usually just a train/bus ride away.

Whats one thing we don't know about you that you think we should? 

I dunno ... I'm pretty much an open book LOL.

Its your last day on earth - what do you do? 

I ask my Momma to make her amazing enchiladas, rice, and beans and spend the day with my parents, my husband, family, and friends (don't forget the furkids) and we chat, watch football, and just enjoy each others company.

What is the story behind your blog name? 
I changed my blog name in early 2012 from ...just trying to find my way to unSimply Celia because I felt like I was no longer trying to find my way. I know who I am, I know where I want to be and what I want to do with my life and my blog changed to all things me, and focused more on my life, my simple... yet complicated life. I know unSimply isn't a word, but it just fit which is why the blog title is written Simply Celia and the "un" is penciled in.

What was your favorite wedding moment/memory? 

I can't just choose one, so I'll share three. One) my girls were helping me get dress in the hotel room and out of nowhere my Mom just started crying and telling me how beautiful I looked. She just grabbed the hands of one of my best friends and stared at me. Two) Walking down the aisle arm in arm with my Dad. My Dad has been in bad health for sometime and with each trip to the ER I always wondered if I would be able to share this one moment with him. Three) Locking eyes with the Mister and holding his hands in front of our Judge and only the closest of our friends and family. Looking up and realizing that he had tears in his eyes and rolling down his face.

not a honey boo boo pageant queen

happy Friday loves! so a quick update on Lucy - thankfully her body is taking to the medicine. She is doing better & her breathing has started to get better. She was a strong girl & fought for her life these past 2 days & she could have not done it without all of your love & prayers. It truly is amazing what prayer can do. However, we are not out of the clear & sadly will never be. Lucy has a heart murmur. She will always have heart failure. When we took her to the ER the vet told us she has months to maybe a year left....but we can help increase her life span by changing her lifestyle---> i.e. no more walks, no running, diet change, her life needs to be as calm & peaceful as can be. So that's what we will be doing.

Well, although I've been married for over 2 years, and have yet to change my last name, my married last name is Komma. Every single time I have to use my married last name, I always have to reference by saying, that's comma [like the punctuation] with a K....and here we are today!

I think of myself as a very open person, and I think that shows through my blog...but something fun and cool about me is I have a twin brother! Yeah, be jealous...I'm clearly a little bias, but it is the best way too grow up!

oh Monday hello again. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was pretty low key, but i'm not gonna lie I love it like that! However one thing I did do this weekend was officially launch Messy Extras! What is Messy Extras? Well it's going to be a few different things but the first thing that I launched was Custom Blog Design for Blogger & Wordpress! I have been designing websites for small businesses for over 2 years now so I figured why not use my skills for blogs too....plus designing blogs is so much more fun! What is the Story Behind your Blog Name?

I came up with my blog name Little Miss Alizzi simply because Alizzi is my last name. I get lots of "how do you say that?" It's a pretty fun last name to have...well at least I think so. "Little miss" kinda just stuck with me thanks to my last place of employment. Everyone would call me Little miss..they would say I was an old lady in a kids body. hmmm, now that I think about it I don't know if that's a good thing? Everyone would ask if I was still in high school..I hated it!

What's Something we don't know about you that we should?!

One thing you just gotta know about me is that I am totally OCD about mopping... Please tell me someone else has this problem. I literally mop between 1-4 times a day! Yes, crazy I KNOW! I totally hate this about myself & I have no clue where this came from, but I am trying my hardest to overcome this pesky, time consuming, pulling my hair out problemo! So pray for me y'all!

So when I heard about this special cause for sick animals of course I had to get involved...

If you don't know Jess of The Kentucky Priss then I feel sorry for you. She is one of my FAVORITE bloggers & people. She is a special person with a HUGE heart. We would be lucky to have more people like her in our world. I have never met someone so selfless & generous as her. She inspires me constantly to do better & be better.

So the other day Jess was talking about her friend Sarah who this November 4th, she will be running in a marathon in the BIG APPLE for a charity of her choice.  

She chose to run for the animals. 

Here's her story ------> 

"It could be that man's best friend might one day be man's best healer."

A few weeks after I found out I had been accepted to run the ING NYC Marathon this fall, my first pet,  passed away from lung cancer.  The struggles "Pookie" went through with this disease caused her heart to enlarge & became too much of a fight for her 14-year-old body to continue to battle.  

However, I feel that Pook's passing was a blessing in disguise & God's way of giving me a reason for committing to run 26.2 miles come November.  

2 Million Dogs is a wonderful organization committed to discovering the common links between canine and human cancers and the causes of these cancers through comparative oncology research.  Started by a man who embarked on a cross country trek that was inspired by after losing his Great Pyrenees to cancer. 

It's amazing to learn about the research being done on this disease & the comparisons that are being found between canine & human cancer.  I'm sure most of us, at some point in our life will be directly affected by cancer.  Please help me reach my goal of $1,000 by November 4th in not only aiding man's best friend, but our human fight against cancer.

Take my sweet puppy to the beach (his favorite) and try to catch a pretty sunset, make out with my handsome husband A LOT, eat a TON of food, and drink LOTS of wine.

What made you up & move to the big island of Hawaii? 

My boyfriend (now husband) at the time got transferred to Hawaii. I was lovestruck and couldn't bare being that far away from him. After a few plane trips (and a lot of $) to see each other, we finally said this is it!! and tied the knot! And here I am :)

What's one thing we don't know about you that you think we should?

 I spent about a month in Ugandaon a mission trip and was baptized in the Nile Riverat sunset! It was truly one of the most AMAZING experiences!

lets elope!

well well well...look what day it is - FRIDAY! I told you this week would fly by! Yesterday we had our first rain of the season! It was a full blown storm! I love it. However I only like stormy days when you have nothing to do & can lay in bed all day watching movies. Going outside in that mess is craziness. It ended up clearing up later on in the day - check out the beautiful sunset we had

So we are getting closer to Halloween! Are you excited? We finally put up decorations at our house! Sadly though, we don't get any trick-or-treaters which was really devastating to me the first halloween we realized no one was coming. Before we had moved into that house, back in our family home where I grew up our street was THE street to be for trick-or-treating. We would get over 500 people. No joke. It was insanity but we loved every minute of it. So going from 500 people to no one was defiantly disappointing  I am hoping to go to Disneyland this year on Halloween if the BF doesn't have Fire. We will see. But check out some of our Halloween decorations!

I have gotten to knew her pretty well over the past few months & I really enjoy her outgoing personality. She is just a complete sweetheart. My favorite thing about her blog though is hearing about her amazing job. I have a lot of respect for people who work in this profession & I love hearing everything about it. Hey everyone! I'm Paige and I blog at Eloping Stethoscope. It used to be The Eloping Stethoscope but like facebook, I dropped the 'the'. Isn't that the way it always goes? I thought I'd introduce myself by sharing a few random facts. First, I love pot roast with carrots and potatoes. Seriously, I get really giddy whenever I know we're eating it for dinner. 

Second, I'm probably the biggest slack of a nursing student ever. Nursing students are supposed to be analytically  attentive and super focused. If I sit in a four hour lecture class, I will start pretending I'm a seal and balancing pencils on my nose. I've also been known to spin in my chair. 

To contrast that, I run the mentor program through my school. Figure that one out will ya? My husband, Cody, and I got married after 11 months of knowing each other and he's a full foot taller than me. It makes for some interesting pictures. On my blog, you'll find me elaborate on all of this and much more, so stop by!

I will probably eat pot roast, carrots and potatoes and then spend all day with Cody and my mom. I can tell you that the last thing I would be doing is going to clinical or class!  

2.) Tell us about your new business.

I started making jewelry because I couldn't ever find bracelets that fit my tiny wrists or earring that didn't bother my ears. I wanted to make myself accessorize more so I just started making it! A few friends wanted me to sell it or make them custom pieces and my great grandmother shared all of her supplies from her own jewelry making hobby years ago and so the shop was born! Any piece that I make, I'm willing to make longer or shorter at no extra charge, because I believe that just like clothes, not every piece of jewelry will fit every woman! Recently, I've begun to start making hair accessories and those have been really taking off! Making jewelry is my stress reliever and I don't see it stopping any time soon!

3.) What is one thing we don't know about you that you think we should?

I had a cat named Oreo that was actually all black. She was named because I was craving oreos. She was very close to being "Dorito". I have no idea why you need to know this, but you do!

What is something we don't know about you but you think we should?

Something not many people know about me, and I probably should be ashamed of is the fact that I didn't learn how to ride a bike without training wheels until I was 11. I know shameful right? I think it's funny! My brother was 7 at the time and he would fly by me and my dad would still be pushing me around the yard. Yep...that's me!

If you won the lottery what 3 things would you do first?

Oh my! I would probably pee my pants first. Then I would take our family & close friends to Hawaii so we could get married there, and I would bring Jagged Edge because they sing "our song" and I've always wanted them to sing at our wedding. Then I would buy a lake house here at my favorite cove and have a Pomeranian farm there. I dream big!

Why did you start blogging & what are you hoping to get out of blogging?

I started my blog last September, but I didn't really blog regularly until probably November/December. I've been reading blogs for years, but just never took the plunge to start my own. I hoped that my sense of humor would rely on my blog and I could make people laugh. Of course I always want my readers to fall in love with Tilly and just meet new girls that I can share things with. So far, so good! :)
