im sweating yet the mall is selling sweaters?!

hellllo lovers! first off thank you so much to everyone who linked up yesterday for the 1st click a pic challenge! I really appreciate all the support! So today we're gonna forget that its summer & we're all dying of heat & talk about my favorite time of the year - FALL

But besides all of that i LOVE fall clothes...the sweaters, boots, scarfs, jackets...fall shopping is my favorite but its defiantly something that is hard to do while its 90 degrees out & you're shopping trying on sweaters & pants while sweat drips down your face....just me?...ok moving on...still, I will never understand why the stores find it necessary to start putting out fall clothes in July, it can be hard for people to get in the fall mindset...most are still buying swim suits & maxi dresses.....even weirder do you know they already are buying for Summer 2013?! Crazy right?!

According to Harpers Bazaar this fall 2012 you will see a lot of clothes "with a retro mix of florals & lace, knit tweeds & yes, shawls making the sartorial cut. Chic sportsmanship will be of importance as well, especially when channeling the great outdoors or reveling in the new take on military......fur accents & elegant embroidery. And a host of cool options in the way of black leather or all-white means there will definitely be something for everyone.  - via

So today I'm going to help you get into the fall mindset & give you a head start on what the trends are for this upcoming fall 2012 season. So let's get started!

The color that I am seeing everywhere for this year is Tangerine- its the hot color this fall so be sure to add something tangerine to your wardrobe this fall.

Polk-a-dots are another fun trend this fall...but not just in blouses, everywhere!

The colored pants trend is still in however the pants are transiting from bright neon colors to more deeper & darker colors, for example a dark red or dark purple.

Another trend I am seeing everywhere is embellishment on the shoes! To be honest I am not a huge fan of this trend, maybe with the right pair of shoes with a few studs but overall this trend is one I will not be partaking in...

However, as usual my favorite trend this fall is the short booties...or as the fashion world calls it the "crop"...i am beyond obsessed...& i already purchased my perfect pair...don't worry ill show you them soon...but I def recommend investing in a pair of crop booties & the best part is they have a variety to choose from!

Purses.....ahh do i love thee..so there are 2 kinds of purses I am seeing that are going to be big for Fall 2012...we've got the Satchel & the Mini Crossbody

Ok so far we've got tangerine something, dark colored pants, crop booties, a mini crossbody, some polk a dots & now lets round out the outfit with a fabulous jacket! And this season its all about leather & tweed!

So if you've noticed I don't talk much about styling accessories...its not that I don't wear jewelry its just I usually wear my staple pieces for everyday and then if I'm going somewhere it depends on what I'm wearing & ill fancy it up more with some accessories....but one trend I am seeing is 'oval' pieces, for example Tory Burch, Kate Spade & Marc by Marc all have the oval look this fall season

Happy Monday lovers!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! If it was your very last day to live what would your final meal request be?

If was my last day to live, my final meal request would be all Mexican food. I would want my mother in law's mole enchiladas, tons of guacamole and chips and massive amounts of margaritas.

What is the most daring or dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

The most dangerous thing I have ever done was in high school. I decided to tell my parents that I was babysitting so I could down to a Barenaked Ladies concert in Virginia Beach, which was 2 hours away. I was already grounded so I thought I was so sneaky by saying I was babysitting. Well it backfired because the concert got out late so I was speeding home...and you know it...I got pulled over and received a reckless speeding ticket. I had to fess up to my mom and dad and go down to Virginia Beach for court. I was totally in trouble after that one!

I know you just got engaged, what are you most looking forward to planning?

The most exciting thing I am looking forward to planning is all the little details that make the reception fun. I want to have a photo booth with props, I would like everyone to bring a piece of fabric so I can make it into a massive quilt with all the pieces, and I can't wait to dance under twinkle lights with my new hubby!

So I was super excited when Marisa sent me some stuff to try out. I am really particular with my underwear so I was very curious as to how these would feel & fit. She is such a doll & let me pick which undies I wanted..so I chose these two...how freaking cute are they?!

so I put them on & instantly I knew I loved them! They fit perfectly. The material was so soft & I really loved the spandex feel.  They're very light weight. What I really liked about them was while wearing them they never sunk into my bottom & created a wedgie....TMI?...but that's a HUGE thing for me. The minute underwear do not stay in place around my bottom & start to sink in that's it. I take them off, so it was a huge surprise that these did not move. I even slept in them & they were so comfy, like I was wearing nothing. Not to mention they're so freaking cute with all the adorable lace detail & the little bows in the front.

So adorable right? This is actually Marisa w/ her hubby at the American Music Awards Backstage Gifting Suite...ya know where all the celebrities go to get their swag bags?! Besides the fun & silly writing she also makes a wedding line, which consists of white undies & tanks with Bride, Hitched or Taken on the back, along with some other fun wedding themes, perfect for any bride....Lauren I'm talking to you!  

But if bling underwear just isn't your thing she also makes these adorable shirts & tanks & like the undies the material is SO soft...you know when you find that one plain tee that is just so soft & comfortable that you buy it in every color...well that's how her shirts are...that wonderful...plus there black, pink & sparkly my 3 favorite things to wear!

ok ok enough about how much I love her product why don't you meet the girl behind the bling & hear about some celebrity encounters...

1.) How did you come about starting this business?

It’s actually a funny story. I used to do custom rhinestone designs for private clients. I would decorate cell phones, belt buckles, t-shirts, & even door knobs once. I love to make anything prettier with rhinestones. One day I went downtown to this store that would let me use their heat press. I made a small design, but forgot my t-shirt.  Luckily I still had some booty shorts in my car from my shopping spree the day before. So when I went out to look for the t-shirt I found the booty shorts. I figured why not just put the design on some underwear. It was literally one of the only things I had not bedazzled before. So I brought in the pair of undies (freaking out the 16 year old boy who did the heat press) and asked him to press my design on the underwear. I wore them the next day and my husband's reaction was priceless. “What are those? Those are so cute!!” and that is when I decided that I was going to Bling Out America One Booty at a Time.

2.) Why Panties?

I felt it was a niche that needed to be filled.  So many companies were doing shirts and other things, but no one was blinging undies. I quickly found out blinged booties make everyone happy. 

 3.) Tell us about a surreal experience you've had with your business & a celeb.

I have 2.

I was at a charity event in Orange County.  While we were standing in the reception area Gretchen Rossi came up to me and said "You're Marisa from Star Candy.  I love your line and I wear them all the time."  Gretchen was so sweet and genuine.  She seriously made my night.

The other occasion was backstage at the American Music Awards.  Ke$ha was coming through the gifting sweet talking on her cell phone, and just stopped, and got off her phone when she saw our Star Candy table.  She said, "OMG! I love your line! Especially this one with the $ since I use a $ instead of an S in my name. I would love to rock these on stage sometime". Ke$ha was so friendly and outgoing.  It was a pleasure chatting with her.

4.) What's coming up next for Star Candy?

We are expanding the line.  In fall we will have matching cami's to go with the undies.  We have a bunch of new designs coming out and we are expanding our bridal line.

I cannot wait to see what's next with Star Candy because she defiantly has gained a new client here, I am obsessed! Are you yet?

take a risk...

helllllo lovers!! Happy August! Can you believe we're almost done with summer?!? I cannot wait for fall!!...So a few weeks ago I went to LA with my mom & sis to visit a friend of ours. It was your typical LA day - sun, lunch, & shops!

we went to visit my good friend Amanda, whom I met while we were both working at Nordstrom...well for my birthday Amanda got me the CUTEST outfit...to be honest Amanda is probably the only person I have met who can buy me clothes that I'll actually keep & wear...she just knows my look!

One of my favorite things when Amanda gets me clothes is she always has me step outside of my fashion box & try something new. Amanda stuck with the hot trend & got me some adorable mint frayed shorts & normally with these shorts I would put a plain white tank/tee but Amanda likes me to take a little risk so she got me a peach tank to go with the shorts, to make this a color on color look. Now as you know my style is trendy but classic...but as usual amanda did a PERFECT job & I'm obsessed with my outfit!

I love how she went with a peach color tank to wear with the mint shorts & I added a white tank to break up the color a bit
