hello loves! so I was asked by the adorable Carly to co-host a new linkup that she & another blogger just started called 'CopyCat' . This is a weekly linkup every Thursday hosted by Carly of Texas Love Birds & Mary of Trusty Chucks. Basically you find an outfit inspiration & you try your best to copy it! Sounds pretty easy right? (

Well of course I took mine to the next level....but let me backtrack. Doppelgangers. We all have them. People that resemble or look exactly like you. I LOVE finding peoples doppelgangers ...& I happen to have 2 friends who look EXACTLY alike but they don't know each other. It's actually pretty creepy how alike they look. Do you have a doppelganger? Sadly, I have yet to find my doppelganger but I have been told I look like a few certain celebrities. I get Lady Gaga a lot. Especially when I am wearing my big 'Ray bans'. Sometimes I can see the resemblance, sometimes not. Either way I'm okay with that because Gaga is the BEST. She is one strong, inspirational women. Another celeb that I get a lot is Rachel Zoe. Whom I adore. So today I thought it would be fun to copycat one of my celeb doppelgangers & since both RZ & I are fashionistas I decided to copy her. Here is the inspiration outfit that I found on the one & only pinterest - typical Zoe - casual, classic & chic

so you're probably wondering why I am stating the definitions of a bully. Well its because the word "bully" has become a buzz word or the 'it' word around here in blogland. It seems to be thrown around like an old pair of underwear, when most of the time the word shouldn't even be used. 
Bullying is a serious thing. It is something that I had to deal with throughout  school & something that has gotten even worse. 
So it really bothers me when I see bloggers calling other bloggers bullies. I actually find it funny because if you only knew the real definition of a bully. 

When I was bullied I was sent threat letters, got threatening calls. I had to eat lunch in teachers classrooms to prevent from the older kids coming up to me & backing me into a wall scaring me to shit saying their going to beat me up....for doing nothing. 
Things were thrown at me, scary notes were put in my backpack. Everywhere I went people looked at me and stared. I was scared to go to school. Every morning when I was dropped off I made my dad wait in the car & watch me until the bell rang so nothing would happen to me. And sadly, that isn't even as bad as it can be compared to some stories I have heard over the years.

It seems that in a mans world sticking up for yourself & being a strong man is admired. But when a woman does it with a little force all the girls are so ready to get their claws out & call her a bully or a mean girl. So explain to me why standing up for yourself & your blog makes you a bully?

Most of us serious bloggers put all our sweat & tears into our blogs. They're our babies. We are proud of them. So when something is so easily copied or duplicated that you worked SO hard on, why is it so wrong to speak up & say something? Do you just expect us to sit there like sheep?

Maybe some of you live that way, but I do not. I have never been a sheep. When I think something isn't right you better believe your ass I'm going to speak up. 

Does that make me a bitch? Maybe.

A bully? Fuck no. 

It's almost an insult to all the people who have actually been bullied in life to be using this word so loosely. You can't even discuss anything anymore without someone assuming you're attacking them. 

I do believe that us bloggers should support each other but lets also have respect & consideration to each others designs & creatively.

That Madonna Girl

so i love headbands...especially ones that make me feel like I am a hippy....i know, no surprise there. i am always looking for hippy inspired headbands to add to my collection. so one night, late night when I couldn't sleep I was creeping on instagram. 

How do you creep on instagram you ask? Well instead of looking at pictures of the people you follow I usually look at the pictures who my followers liked....ok now I sound like a weirdo ha...but moving on - while doing that one night I came across a picture of a girl wearing this amazing flower hippy headband....i was in love.

so I clicked the picture praying to the hair gods that either it was her who made that headband or she tagged the person who did.....& luckily she tagged the person who made it.

I was intrigued. 

so i click to go to her profile & in her bio it says 'NYC's favorite flower child'.....flower child?? a light went off in my head instantly ---> omg shes a hippy headband lover too...so for the next hour I creeped looked at all of her pictures....& wow is she beautiful & so are the pieces the makes. After more creeping researching on google about That Madonna Girl I found her site. 

& oh man was it beautiful. It was hippy heaven. I was beyond obsessed. So of course I bought a halo. What's a halo you ask? Oh ya know that's just what she calls her adorable headbands - 'Halos' ...I mean can you get any cuter than that!? They come in all kinds of colors & types of flowers. 

I was super excited when the halo arrived! I put it on instantly. I loved how comfortable & easy to wear it was. It has leather ties so you can adjust it to fit your head perfectly. Its so lightweight you can't even feel it on you head....even Dolce loved it.

so when i become obsessed something I can't stop thinking about it. I really loved everything about her brand that I just had to contact her & let her know I too was a fellow flower child. I didn't think she would respond because her business is booming.

I mean she has celebs like Julianne Hough & Christina Milian wearing her halos so imagine my surprise when she wrote me back & was totally up for a special feature on the mess.

MessyDirtyHair: Tell me a little bit about yourself

ThatMadonnaGirl: 23 year old designer and fashion addict.

MDH: How did 'That Madonna Girl' come to be?

TMG: The idea came to me one night in a dream. After searching for similar products on the internet I couldn't find any flower headbands i liked. That day i started making them for myself. Eventually little by little it turned into a business and before I knew it I was filling out paperwork for a corporation. 

MDH: So, I love your motto 'Flower Children Only', how did that come to be?

TMG: I’m not exactly sure how that motto came to be. One day I wrote it on the main page of the site and it just stuck, I feel like it goes with the company and my customers really well. 

MDH: Do you personally make each halo? 

TMG: I personally make a lot of the halos. But the company has grown so much so I do have a lot of help now. I wish I could still make every single one. But I want to grow the company and work on a lot of other things so it’s nice to have a couple employees helping make halos.

MDH:  I see you name your halos after girls. Are they named after particular people or just for fun?

TMG: All the halos are named after my friends. And now I name them after my flower children - girls who have purchased halos. Sometimes a flower child will special order a halo and come up with an amazing design i will put it on the site and name it after her.  

MDH: What is the most exciting thing that has happened to your company since starting TMG?

 TMG: A lot of really cool things have happened to me since starting TMG. But I think the most exciting is every time I run into someone wearing a halo. It happens a lot but every time I am still overcome with joy. It makes me so happy that girls are enjoying my products as much as I do. 

MDH:  I have seen celebrities sporting TMG halos; can you give us any fun details on what that was/is like seeing celebrities wear your pieces?

 TMG: It’s the most exciting thing knowing a celeb loves my product. Seeing Paris Hilton was very exciting because she absolutely loves the halos. It was so much fun because she tried on every single one and i pretty much gave her one of everything. She looks awesome in the halos. 

MDH: What is the future/upcoming for TMG?

TMG: We are hoping to eventually turn TMG into a whole lifestyle and accessories brand. We want to sponsor parties and plan festivals and rage right along side the girls who buy our products. Feather earrings are coming soon and catch us Ultra Music Festival & Coachella!

okay now that we got the obligatory it's Monday talk out of the way....isn't it funny how a lot of posts will start out talking about Monday one way or another today. Seriously, the next blogs you read today count how many start off talking about it being Monday 

but moving on from the Monday talk....I wanted to tell you all about a fun new linkup that just started that yours truly gets to co-host on Thursday!!! sooo you know what the best alarm clock is to wake up too?!?!.....dog kisses! I cannot tell you the amount of times I have been woken up from Maxx or Lucy licking my face. It really starts my day off to a good start. So I had to take Maxx to the Vet over the weekend. He loves going out for trips in the car. He was all happy &  jolly when we got outta the car. His tail was wagging and his tongue was sticking out from smiling. However, the moment we stepped into the Vet's office he stopped. My happy, jolly little boy was now shaking & scared. But what dog really likes going to the Vet? 

Well turns out Maxx has an ear infection & is a little over weight. My poor little baby. So now he has special ear drops & has to go on a diet. He is NOT happy about either of them. Especially the diet because he is a little piggy for sure. But while Maxx was getting his ears cleaned, I was out in the waiting room watching the educational pet video they had playing. I must say I actually enjoyed the video & did learn some new insightful information but what I really took from it was they said you are more likely to live a longer life if you own/love an animal & personally I believe that is true.

If you could have any super power what would it be & why?

I would want to have superhuman speed.  By definition, this includes moving, flying, thinking, reacting, and sensing at a faster speed than the average human.  This also includes accelerated brain activity.  I already suffer from a hyperactive brain, but with superhuman speed I can come to conclusions faster and get tasks done much quicker so that maybe I would lie in bed at night thinking about all the tasks I still have left to do.... Not to mention, we I need a break from reality, I'd run/fly to Alaska, New Zealand, or Mauritius for the weekend.

What is something we don't know about you that we should?

Oomph.  I don't know.  I refuse to see the Wizard of Oz.  I think I watched part/all of it when I was a wee girl, and I just refuse to have anything to do with it now.  I won't even see Wicked.  No, thank you, who knows what crazy manifestations my brain would produce at night.

Its your last day on earth, what do you do? 

Assuming I have my superhuman speed, I would probably hit the highlights on my list of things to see/experience.  Assuming I am just regular ole' me, I'd be at home with my family, chilling in bed all day maybe watching a favorite movie and eating whatever we want.  Nothing too fancy, but the only place I'd want to be if it was my last day on earth.  Plus, if I'm able to leave my body, my heart and body won't care how much french toast and chocolate chimichangas I eat.

How cool is it she started a magazine?! You know I love entrepreneurs. Its so funny  to see what super power everyone would have...mine would be mind reading....ahh could you imagine how cool it would be if we all had our own super power?! So today Amy is giving away a $20 Amazon gift card & featured ad space on her adorable blog! I feel like Santa since December started with all these fabulous giveaways being hosted here on le blog.

happy friday! Another week closer to Christmas! But really I don't want time to speed up....I want to savor this month as long as I can....don't you all agree?

~Its your last day on earth-what do you do?

Easy! Go to Disney World  But I would absolutely have to have a super fast pass because that would suck to have your last day on this planet wasted waiting in line for Space Mountain. OH and I would have a cold frap in my hands the entire time. 

~If you could have one super power what would it be?

I'm such a nerd girl but I would want to have super speed reading and be able to retain everything I read. So I would have knowledge of practically everything and be able to do almost any skill that doesn't require strength. :) I wouldn't be the most useful person in a mutant battle...BUT I could do a lot of planning pre-battle for the team. Or I would just be the evil genius. Whoever will have me. 

~Whats one thing we don't know about you that you think we should?

I'm not as mean as I look. My regular face is kinda scowly. I kinda have a Kayla Maroney thing going on. But I am nice. I promise.

glitter everywhere

hello lovers! I know I have been MIA from blogging this week...I have just been busy doing random holiday stuff & finishing up some blog design...however QUESTION - do you feel you have less motivation to blog right now because it's the holiday season? I know I do, that's for sure.
