What is fearless fashion fridays? Well have you ever seen a trend that you LOVE but are too afraid to try it yourself? Or have you tried a new trend & wanna strut your self? Or are you just obsessed with fashion!? Well that's what FFF is all about. It doesn't matter how you display it we just want to see the fashion! 

sooo today I am going to talk about another trend that I am dying to try this summer! It is an old fashion look but it's coming back ---

High Waisted Swimsuits!

in all honesty i absolutely HATE being in a bikini, which sucks for me considering I am at the beach 24/7...so I really love this alternative look to a tiny bikini because it covers up a little more skin but not enough to make it a one piece. Plus it's just so trendy & fun. I love being fearless when it comes to clothes, it really gives me a chance to be original. 

Sooo if I had to pick one of the swim suits above I would want this print because is has such a hippy feel too it but minus the open ties on the side...thats a little much for me. 

so that is the trend I will be trying come this summer....I just need to find the perfect one & see if I can actually pull it off since I am short. Would you try the high waisted swim suit trend? Linkup with us & let us know your fearless fashion!

#TheMessyProject --- 2 into 1

its baaaaaaaaackkkkk!!!!!!

Welcome back to Round 7 of #TheMessyProject!!! If you are new around here & have yet to hear about the project, you can check out all the info HERE..... but here's just a quick little intro to help you get more acquainted to the project  ---->

so i'm not gonna lie, i wasn't really sure what I wanted to do for this round of the project. i had a few ideas i was going back & forth with but then i saw this. Its was simple & plain but the possibilites were endless. You could literally do anything with it. Plus I wanted to touch on a trend that a lot of people love but have yet to take the leap & try it....what's that trend you ask? Ohhhh well that would be the Chambray shirt, but I upped it a little & got a Chambray Button Down Shirt Dress with Tie!

so many options were going through my head as to what to do with this fabulous light weight shirt dress....so in true messy project fashion I challenged myself, stepped outside of the box & turned this shirt dress into a normal button down shirt!

sooo i tucked it in & removed the tie...the shirt dress was light weight enough to be tucked in without any bulge ( ie making it totally obvious that I just tucked in a freaking dress ). Then I decided to pair it with my dark flared jeans to contrast with the light jean & added my leather, open toed Steve Madden wood platforms for a spring feel.I love the way gold looks against this blue color so I added gold accessories, which included 2 long necklaces....& finished my outfit with the perfect pair of gold rimmed Ray Bans.

so as you can see this shirt dress has many different way to wear it because it's not only a dress but it can also be worn as a shirt, so it's like 2 outfits in one! How would've you worn the shirt dress? are we being fooled?!

have you all heard about the Manti Te'o story?! its pretty crazy. if you haven't or are still not sure what really happened here's a short little version to catch you up to speed - basically he made up a fake girlfriend, told everyone about her, had pictures etc...then he told everyone that she was dying of cancer along the same time his grandma was dying...so it looked like he was going through 2 tragedies at once, which he claims helped & inspired him to be an even better linebacker. So of course everyone was praising him for going through 2 deaths & still becoming a first draft pick.......

until the secret got out. there was no dying girlfriend. there was no girlfriend with cancer. there was no girlfriend. he fooled everyone....However, he's 'claiming' now he was the victim of a 'catfish' incident but you can decide that on your own.

Personally, I think he's full of shit & what bothers me the most is how EASY it was for him to lie to everyone for over 2 years. 

It just goes to show that even if you think you know someone, in reality you may not know them at all. That's why it's funny with blogging sometimes because yeah sure you think you know all these people writing about their lives but then again look how simple it is to make up a story? 

& It's even easier to lie when it's online...I am sure you have all seen the MTV show 'Catfish'...everyone is getting fooled on that show...so how do we know in blogland we're not getting fooled?

she's guilty!

i know it's the weekend & I usually don't post but I had some exciting news that I just had to share with you guys PLUS a special treat! so it's been something I have wanted to do for awhile but I was always working & really couldn't afford doing it but since things have changed I am finally going to take the leap.....i'm going back to school to be a preschool teacher!!! PLUS because I already have my degree I don't have to take that many classes, so it's not gonna take me long at all...I can't even express into words how psyched I am! However, it has been awhile since I was back in school....i wonder if i'll be totally outta date with my notebook & pencil? I told you 2013 was going to be my biiiitchh

Maxx is pretty excited about it too!


andddd this weekend was also exciting because my facebook page reached 1,000 likes!!! I know a lot of you don't use facebook pages that much anymore but I still get a lot of traffic from it, plus I think it's another great way to connect with everyone.

Three things you must know about me and my blog.

2. I take about four selfies a year that I rotate around. Don't worry, they're all gems.

3. 98% of what I say is bullshit.

This is true, I did write an ironic childrens book called A Bottle For You, A Bottle For Me.

It's ironic in the fact it's called a childrens book, but I wouldn't recommend reading it to children.

After watching my then six-month-old nephew, Knox, for five days (five really long days)

I wrote a book about the joys of babyhood,

from the point of view of an outsider looking in.

He's a real diva.

Kelly says, "what is one thing we don't know about you we should?"

Well, this is a hard one because I write a daily blog about my life....

So I don't have a lot of secrets.

But if I had to choose one thing I guess I would have to say that I really hate cursive handwriting.

It seriously pisses me off. Especially when writing checks.

Granted I don't write checks anymore, but I remember.

And when I figure out which group of pretentious third graders invented it so help me God...

Kelly says, "it's your last day on earth, what do you do?"

I think I would probably spend it googling "how to survive your last day on earth."

Which would mean I would get sidetracked on Facebook at some point looking at photos

of people I hardly know.

Especially old high school classmates, those are always entertaining.

So yeah, I would probably (unintentionally) end up spending my last day on earth browsing Facebook.

I lala loveee this trend! It is so girly & fun! I have always been obsessed with tulle in general & never really thought about wearing tulle in the everyday. Who says tutus just have to be for little girls in ballet right!? What I love even more about this trend is it doesn't have to be strictly for weddings or worn to some fancy event. As seen in the pictures above you can dress it down with a jean chambray shirt, tank top or just a simple tee. This trend can be worn in both fall & summer depending on what color tutu you wear & what you put with it. This is one trend I defiantly need to get my hands on & I look forward to trying it this summer! Would you try the tutu trend?

It's your last day on earth, what do you do? 

My very last day on earth would probably involve a lot of crying. And the only people I would want to cry with would be my family. As much as I would love to say that I would spend my last day in some crazy, exotic place bungee jumping or eating large quantities of Oreos, if it was truly my last day on earth I would be wanting to just spend a happy, peaceful time with my family and feel of all their love in one place. Also, I would hope that I already ate large quantities of Oreos before then anyways. :)

What is the story behind your blog name? 

I went through a few other blog names before I settled on "And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson." When I decided on the name I was kind of going through a hard time and wanted my blog to be an honest and genuine representation of my life, not something that just sounded cute & painted a perfect picture. Then one day, when I was kind of emotional, the Simon & Garfunkel song "Mrs. Robinson" came on the radio and the line that says "And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson, Jesus loves you more than you will know" just kind of hit me at that moment.  {And it wasn't because I was having an affair with a younger graduate student ;)}. I have always loved the song and really love Simon & Garfunkel so it all just kind of seemed to fit together perfectly to use that line for my new blog name. I feel like it captures the feel of my blog and allows me the freedom to be truly genuine. Plus I feel like it's pretty unique so it's all a win-win [win]!

What's one thing we don't know about you that you think we should? 

There are probably a lot of things that would surprise you to know about me. Like how I'm scared to look in mirrors in the dark, I have a slight obsession with all things sparkly & full of glitter, I know the High School Musical dance {and even choreographed more to it for a talent show.... when I was 18, ha!}, and don't know how to open Capri Suns. But maybe something that you should know that isn't as embarrassing to me as those other facts is that I am a very sensitive, emotional person. I feel things so deeply and have been like that ever since I was young. If I saw a stray dog in the neighborhood I would go to my parent crying and begging to pick it up because I was scared of what might happen to it. I have avoided certain {Disney} movies because they are too hard for me to watch. And when I hear of or see other people's trials and struggles, it deeply pains me as if they were my own. A lot of times I feel so very weak because of this quality, like I can't handle hardships or life well. But I know that other times it is also a blessing and I feel like that is one of the reasons why I was drawn to blogging. [That and I talk a lot, obviously. :)]
