seriously where did this week go? i don't know about you but this week flew by....but that's ok because im going to Disneyland on Sunday!!! And for all my disney loves, Peter Pan is officially out of the Disney Vault...so get it while you can!!

so today I have another trend that I love but this one I am way too nervous to try....this trend is

so i love this look!  As you can see I marked my favorite one because thats the look I have been wanting to try for awhile - a long skirt & a crop top, almost looks like a bra. However, I am so nervous to try this trend. 

One because I get weird showing any type of skin, especially my stomach

Two because I am only 5'3 I don't know if my short little self could actually pull this off....

Three because I'm not sure if it would give me a slutty type of look...you know what I mean? 

The key though to trying this trend is to make sure to pair the crop top with a high waisted skirt, short or pant.

moving on from one fashion to another.....i have one of my favorite fashion bloggers here today & couldn't be more excited about it. I started out just reading her blog & loving all her looks & style. Then we started talking on a more friend level & we realized how much we have in common & have become more than just bloggers, but friends.....& let me tell you this...she is my type of girl - honest, real, & a cat lover like myself....not to mention she has fabulous fashion sense. She recently just got a new blog makeover & its beautiful just her...so without further ado meet

Hi Everyone!  I'm Niki, the lip gloss loving blonde behind the blog, Glossy Blonde.  My blog is based around beauty, style and sweets, which are three of my ultimate favorite things.

I love to share outfit styling ideas around a fun piece or color combination.  One of my recent favorites is the outfit I styled around bright colors that make me yearn for warm spring weather!  Since I love fashion so much, I thought it would be fun to also share my personal style from time to time.  I feel that this gives my readers a little taste of the girl behind the blog, and what I actually wear and look like on a day-to-day basis.

Beauty products are also a major obsession of mine, so I like to share my newest favorites and reviews with my readers!  I subscribe to Birchbox, Glossybox and most recently Ipsy Glam Bag, and I go shopping frequently, so I am never short on new products to try!  Yes, this might be a little excessive, but I blame it on my Dad.  :)

And oh, how I love desserts!  Although I truly believe that living and eating healthfully is SO important, I also believe in "everything in moderation" and I treat myself often!  One of my all-time favorite recipes were my Pumpkin Whoopie Pies with Maple Buttercream.  I like to try my hand at fun, unique recipes with a little bit of a twist.

i don't know why but this dress makes me feel extra girly...maybe it's the way it twirls or because of the blush pink color...it just feels like the ultimate girly girl dress & the touch of mint green just adds to the perfection. unexpected plans...

it was so much fun reading what you believe you're never too old for...it's refreshing to know I am not in alone in my thinking....but today I have something special to share with you. One of my lovely sponsors Christie is currently in the process of adopting, but this adoption was something her & her family were not planning on, however God had different plans for her family......here is her story.....

Two weeks ago I was sitting on Facebook getting ready to head out the door for dinner when I received a message from a fellow adoptive Mom and bloggy friend Dawn. 

"I have a birth family that's looking for a married, Christian, inter-racial couple, with only adopted children for a baby girl due April 6."

Say what!  Why don't you just add, "And their names are Christie and Q!"

My heart shot to my throat, my hands got shaky, and I automatically said, "No, Lord."  

You see, nine months ago we lost Moriah's brother to a failed adoption and we swore off ever adopting again.

You see, two months ago we decided we wanted to try to grow our family again, but biologically.

You see, we were waiting on fertility test results when Dawn messaged me.

In other words, we weren't thinking adoption!

But, you see, we serve a God that's bigger than our plans and ideas.  So, my prayer was, "Lord, if you want us to do this let us submit our family profile and our un-updated home study without having to pay anything."  

I thought I'd added enough stipulations to it that it would be a done deal.  Silly me, this is God we're talking about.  The next morning we received the go ahead to send our un-updated home study and profile without having to pay anything.

Ok, Lord.

So, I quickly put together our family profile with a few pictures and overnighted it to Florida.  We've waited for two weeks for a verdict on this.  The patience the Lord has asked of me has been way out of my normal limit! :)

Last Thursday we heard that the birth family had narrowed their selection from 10 families to two and we were one of the two.  All weekend I've gone back and forth, "I know they chose us, I'm so excited, Lord I'm terrified, please don't ask us to do this again, another little girl!, oh the cost...."

And today we learned that we were chosen.  

"Ok Lord.  I'm excited, but terrified.  I'm trusting you that you work all things together for good for those who love you and are called according to your purposes.  Lord, I believe that you own the cattle on a thousand hills.  I'm willing to step out, I'm willing to work hard, I'm willing to sacrifice, I'm willing to petition heaven and earth for the ransom for this baby girl.  Lord, you.are.able.  I am not."

So friends I come to you today for prayer.  Would you commit to pray for us?  Adoption is risky, it's hard, it's tons of work, but it's worth it!

Right now we're in need of close to $12,000 in the next week or so and a total of close to $35,000 by the time she's born.  We are doing everything we can to come up with as much of this as we can on our own, but I know we can't do it on our own.  The Lord has asked us to "go", will you be a sender?

We've set up a chip in donation widget below.  Please know that every penny of your donation will go toward bring a beautiful baby girl into a loving, Christian home.  Our goal is to raise her to love the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength...but we have to get her home first!

Last night we had a $10 donation come in from a friend.  I emailed her thanking her for her donation and she quickly expressed sadness at not being able to give more.  I told her that every little bit helps...and it does.

If you're anything like me, all you've seen is $35,000 and thought, "There's no way I can help with that."  

I get it and I know -- it's so much bigger than any one of us but it's not too big for God!

This morning the Lord laid an idea on my heart and I've fought Him all day about presenting it to you, but I know that He hasn't called us to walk this road alone.  So, I'm excited to present our biggest fundraising effort yet....

Operation {Adoption} 10:10:1

10 Days: $10: 1 Baby Girl

Goal = $10,000

Our adoption agency has given us 15 days to raise $10,000.  We are praying for 1,000 friends to come alongside of us and donate just $10 each.  

I know $35,000 is overwhelming.  

I know $10,000 is overwhelming.

But $10 is a little less overwhelming.

grow up

ever heard that saying? its one of my favorites...its so simple yet so true. 
i think i like that saying so much because its truly how i feel....sure i may be 27 years old, going on 28 in about 4 months oh my god im freaking out seriously how did i get so old....sorry side tracked.

but really when i think about it, my age isn't who i am on the inside. on the inside im still that insecure pre teen girl who still enjoys playing barbies in the garage with her sister & collecting stickers....no seriously guys I LOVE & still do collect stickers. If you've ever gotten a package or card from me, you know - they're dressed in stickers.

i use to think it was weird that at my age i still collected & use stickers but who am i trying to impress? myself? who cares how old I am. if it makes me happy (and isn't hurting anyone) then im going to continue to do it, despite my age. 
& im going to continue to go to Disneyland & act like a litte kid in my mouse ears & all....its funny actually, the last time we went to Disney in December we were on the tram to go to the park from the parking lot. There was a family in front of us with a little girl who was probably 10 or 11. As we were pulling up to the park the conductor said 'we are arriving at the Disneyland park' in which both me & the little girl simultaneously put our hands in the air and starting jumping in our seats....yep im a little kid all the way. 

 so it got me thinking...despite my age, what other things do I believe I'm not to old for... well for starters, I believe we're never to old to ---> 

so live the age you feel, not the age you are

that one time i wore a bib

happy February!! so you know when you were a little baby & your parents put you in bibs while you ate to protect your clothes from any food you might spill...well today i'm here to talk about another type of bib....goes in the same place, just has a different usage. 
im talking about BIB necklaces....not your typical babble statement necklace that everybody in their mothers owns...still haven't jumped that trend yet....what i'm talking about is huge, thick, BIG bib necklaces - see below

it is such a fun trend & something you don't see very often....unlike the babble necklace its a lot thicker & can have many different types of jewels, beads, chains etc. When wearing a bib necklace you have to dress around it because it is such a huge statement piece. Personally, I would pair it with something very plain so that the necklace was the main feature of my outfit. Would you try the bib trend? Yes?
