Life is hard, really hard. We just keep going & never stop. With all the constant interaction we have at our finger tips its no wonder we all get so wrapped up in the hustle & bustle of life.

Personally I annoy the hell outta myself when I am actually relaxing & I check my phone & then literally 5 minutes later I check it again. And for what? It's not like something drastic has changed in those 5 minutes.

I wonder why I continue to do that, knowing what I am doing.

Is it because I really need to know what happened in those last 5 minutes?

Or is it out of boredom?


 Doesn't matter. 

I need to realize it's okay to disconnect. It's okay to not answer emails, tweets etc for a few hours or even the whole day. It's okay to take a moment out of my everyday just for me.

So I challenge you to all take some time this week for yourself. Put down your phones. Get off the computer. Get disconnected. Don't worry it will all be there when you get back. Do something for you. Take a break from your hectic life & just enjoy being alive.

let's boycott Target!

okay so moving on from that.....but really I don't hate Mondays at all. I get to babysit the best kids ever all day every Monday so really it's a happy day for me....that's more for everyone on their way or at the office. Buttttt it is Thanksgiving Week so you all get a shorter week......I really hope everyone has a little time off to spend with their loved ones. 

So have you heard that Target is now going to be open on Thanksgiving?! I knew this was going to happen. Last year I remember telling the BF eventually it's gonna be BLACK THURSDAY! But seriously Target that is so awful you're making your employees come in on a Holiday. It's just not fair.....& to be honest, anyone who actually goes into Target to shop on Thanksgiving.....really? Give it a rest. You can't wait until Friday? You just HAVE to shop. Don't get me wrong I am just as obsessed with Target as the next person but this is just too much. 

So I propose we boycott Target being open on Thanksgiving & not shop there on the Holiday so that hopefully it will back fire & won't happen again next year. I know i'm getting all heated about something that doesn't even affect me, but I just believe in everybody having time off during the holidays. Everybody needs a break. 

However, I can't hate on Target too much today because boy did I score some aaamazing stuff over the weekend....so thank you Target for that.

What are you most looking forward to this holiday season?

I'm so looking forward to Thanksgiving!  It's my all-time favorite holiday.  My dad and I are really close and it's a tradition to have Thanksgiving together every year and just watching football and stuffing our faces. :) And 3 words: sweet. potato. casserole. Swoon!

What 3 things are you thankful for?

-My family (of course!)

-COFFEE - it's seriously a lifesaver for me. I'm not sure I could survive otherwise. You should see me in the mornings before that first cup. {shudder}

- Target. I could live there. I might as well since I'm there so often!

 What do you like most about blogging?

The friendships! I've met so many great people through blogging that I know I would never meet in "real" life because we all live in different places.  But we all have so many things in common and I just love the support from the blogging community (and Twitter!).

everybody has secrets

do you ever look up at the sky & wonder if someone you know is looking up at the sky at the same exact time as you? or why some places put oranges in your ice tea instead of lemons? or how about the days when you have absolutely nothing to do but yet you're having the best hair day ever? or i know, i know those days when you actually have money to spend at the mall & can't find anything & the days you have no money everywhere you look you see something cute?!?!?!?! 

i know, you're probably thinking okay Kelly those are some totally random thoughts....but that's okay because today is the very first day of Random Wednesday hosted by Shanna of Because Shanna Said So....& today anything goes! 

so in honor of Shanna's new linkup & it being an anything goes type of day I thought I would take advantage of the randomness & share a little random secret about myself......

this is something that I have had to deal with since I can remember...so like forever. I hate it. It's gross. I'm embarrassed of it......& really as I write this I don't know why I'm telling you this but......

I have sweaty hands. 

& no I don't mean your occasional it's hot out & my hands are sweating a little......& no I don't mean 'omg I'm nervous & my hands are sweating'....


I mean full blown, water dripping, slippy slimy, puddle making sweaty hands.
I know. Disgusting.

Of course I have looked into getting it fixed but do you want to hear the awful procedure of fixing the sweat!?....well they take a ton of little needles & shoot your veins with botox to stop the sweat. I hear it is SO painful...so yeah i'll be skipping thatso I have been living with it forever & I guess will always be.....& you might not realize how much of an effect sweaty hands can have on your life. Let me just clue you in on a few of the downsides of sweaty hands

You can't high five - Because most of the time the sweat will bounce off of the high five & land somewhere on someone's skin 

You can't hand shake - Because when you shake hands - the hand shook will be all wet & slimy causing them to look at their hand with a look of disgust, look at you with a look of 'what the hell is on your hands' & then continue to wipe their hands on their pants while asking why are your hands all wet causing complete & utter embarrassment for you....& seriously people this happens all the time. Hence why I hate 'hand shaking' & 'high fiving'  

Writing on paper is hard - When you go to write, at least with me, the hand holding the pen - part of it is touching the paper, so while I am writing, the constant pressure of my hand on the paper to turn wet & soggy and then eventually rip. You have no idea how many times this would happen to me in school with tests....especially 'scantron' tests. I would have to let my test air dry before handing it in I was so embarrassed

.You have to carry around a mini wash cloth - Well you don't have too but I do because it is so uncomfortable to be anywhere & just have your hands start sweating .....the sweat is literally dripping off your hands making a puddle...I mean what are you suppose to do?! So I take out my mini wash cloth & hold it & let it absorb all the sweat. Really though, it doesn't last long. The sweat comes back.....

It always comes back. 

ok i think that is enough randomness for today. I think we have all heard enough about my sweaty hands.....I hope I didn't gross you out too much......but don't we all feel a little bit more closer now?

lets get funky

hi loves how are we today? sooo I just wanted to let you all know of a new linkup that will be starting tomorrow hosted by Shanna of Because Shanna Said So , which btw is a daily read of mine. So I still can't believe that we are already in November?! It's just crazy....& let me tell you it has been REALLY hard waiting to listen to my Michael Buble Christmas CD. I told myself I would not start listening to Christmas music until Black Friday....i have about 12 days left....wow 12 days. I started this countdown on my phone back in January....& now we are reaching single digits!!! craziness! 

ok moving on from my Christmas obsession, I am so excited about who is here today! I have fallen in love with this girl. She has such a HUGE & generous heart, its contagious. Not to mention she is so freaking cute. Her blog is just one of those reads that puts you in a good mood. She dabbles in everything so it's always exciting to see what she will be blogging about. Plus she just started something even more exciting, but I'm gonna let her tell you about it. So without further ado meet The Messy Girl of the Month - the adorable & fabulous ---->

Hello, hello! My name is Brie and I blog over at Sophistifunk. I also recently started an online shop selling jewelry. 

Here's a little background about how Sophistifunk: The Shop came to be:

My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer in October of 2011. He had never smoked and was only 44 years old, so it came as a huge shock to my family. He was a well known high school football coach in the Phoenix area and as soon as he was diagnosed, the community rallied together for him and created Team Bemis. They raised money for our family to help pay for his rising medical bills. 



My dad passed away in January 2012, just three months after his diagnosis. Seeing my dad go through such a gruesome process of radiation and chemotherapy made me want to do something to help cancer patients and thank the community for all they'd done for our family. 



I've made jewelry for family and friends for years but decided that I wanted to create a business out of it with a percentage of proceeds going towards various cancer charities. Last month, I was able to donate over $100 to the Ronan Thompson Foundation which goes towards finding a cure for Neuroblastoma, a form of pediatric (childhood) cancer.

No buyers remorse here!

Happy Monday lovers! so I am finally feeling better!!!! wahoo! I know it seems like I have been sick forever...but thank god it's going away,  I hate being sick. So just a little weekend update ---->  we finally got some cold weather. It was actually the perfect crisp fall day, with a nice breeze. I took advantage of the weather & went to the beach with Maxx - he LOVES the beach.....duh just like his mommy. 

He doesn't go in the water but he sure does love chasing the waves. As I was walking on the beach while Maxx was running around as happy as could be I just smiled because I felt so blessed to live where I do. Plus to make this weekend even better my sister came home! I was so excited & happy to see her. I mean she only lives like 45 minutes away but we are both so busy that we don't get to see each other much so it was such a great surprise! 

so of course when she came we went SHOPPING!!!!! With my mom too! It was the perfect mother daughter shopping weekend that we haven't been able to do in awhile. We had lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe, my favorite......& side note for anyone who loves tomato soup & hasn't tried the Nordstrom Cafe bistro tomato soup you are seriously missing out! It is aaamazing & I promise you will be obsessed! Then we shopped around for awhile....Ash was on a mission to find tall black boots. Of course i recommended my favorite Steve Madden....we spent hours in the Victoria Secret PINK store...& of course we both fell in love with the same shirt, so we bough the same shirt & now we're twinsies.....no joke people mistake us for twins alllllll the time.....& then I politely let them know I am in fact am older....even though they never believe me

& then of course we went in more stores...& I bought a new Marc Jacobs purse........but in my defense it was on sale & it was that rare type of bag you NEVER see go on sale so I had to get it...ya know?...oh the things we tell ourselves to make our shopping issues seem okay......but really I have no buyers remorse... actually I never have buyers remorse....hehe ---> anyways overall it really was a great weekend & I miss my sister already!

 but another reason for our shopping adventure was I needed to shop for #TheMessyProject.....& boy am I excited for this months project!.......speaking of #TheMessyProject I have a little surprise for you all but first just a little back story on the project for anyone who is new to it. 

One of the main reasons I love fashion is because you can make it your own. Everyone can have the same exact clothes but the way you style & wear it, is your choice. It gives you a chance to express your inner 'fashonista.' A plain white tee can be looked at as boring & same ol’ same ol’ but think about all the different ways you can wear it. All the different accessories you can add to it. The layers of clothes you can put on it. So this plain white tee isn't so plain anymore. You've made it your own.  

I can look at a top & style it completely different than someone else would… & to me that’s cool....So I wanted to find a fun & different way to interact with other bloggers incorporating fashion, but not just for fashion bloggers. I wanted to do something to convey who we are. To show our personal style. To put our creative minds to work. To express our inner 'fashionista.'  To show people the different ways to style an item depending on your body type & you.....& I wanted it to be a challenge. 

So #TheMessyProject was born. 

#TheMessyProject is a monthly project in which 4 girls each month (5 including me)…will receive an item of clothing from me & the goal is to style the item however YOU would wear it. It may be a challenge, but that's the point. The fun thing about the project is; it's not just for fashion bloggers. Its for everyone. For everyone to come together & show their style. happy friday lovely's! so I went to the Doctor. Thankfully I went in time because my cough could have turned into phenomena. So I have been put on antibiotics & one of them makes me nauseous ....so I am not a happy camper right now.....but in other news I finished a new blog design for the hilarious Sarah over at Hot Mess Mommie. Seriously girls, I didn't know her until I started working with her on her blog & OMG she is a riot. She had me laughing daily. So I love painting my nails. I really wish I was more talented with my nails & could do cool designs like I see on pinterest. But I'm not. I wanted to try something different so I decided to try the nail 'ombre' trend. I have seen it a few times on pinterest & i really liked the way it turned out so I figured why not. I decided to go with a green ombre. The picture doesn't really do justice, it actually looks better in person. But what do you think?

Hey guys!!! My name is Vicki and I blog over at My Vickilicious Life.  I'm from NYC - But don't let my blog name or my hometown fool you, I am not that exciting ;) I'm a bit of a homebody and any given moment you can usually find me: blogging, reading, surfing the net, watching television, tweeting or any combination of those things.  I'm really just your average twenty-something (well at least I am for the next five months and then I turn the big 3-0 ... ahhh - still trying to come to grips with that fact LOL).  My blog is really just a compilation of all things on my mind.

I love handmade and different things, especially when it comes to jewelry   I'm an Etsy junkie, literally I could get lost for hours just browsing all of the different shops ... sometimes it takes some serious willpower for me to not go "click" happy (ie: max out my credit cards on new arm candy LOL).  One of my favorite Etsy shops is Botny ... I am soooo addicted to their earrings.  I think I have about ten pairs and I am forever wanting more and new colors!!! I think they are the perfect little accent to any outfit!!! Its your last day on earth - what do you do? 

Oh, wow ... this is hard.  Like I legit just sat here for fifteen minutes planning the perfect last day in my head.   I definitely  I would want to be able to be surrounded by the people most important to me.  I think I would want to throw a party with all the people I love and just dance & eat & drink and have a good ol' time ... and then end the night with alone time with the boyfriend ...

What is your favorite thing about living in New York?  

Christmas time! I love Christmas in NY.  There is something so magical about it, I cannot even explain exactly what it is.  That and the food -  virtually anything your heart desires is usually just a train/bus ride away.

Whats one thing we don't know about you that you think we should? 

I dunno ... I'm pretty much an open book LOL.
