have you all heard about the Manti Te'o story?! its pretty crazy. if you haven't or are still not sure what really happened here's a short little version to catch you up to speed - basically he made up a fake girlfriend, told everyone about her, had pictures etc...then he told everyone that she was dying of cancer along the same time his grandma was dying...so it looked like he was going through 2 tragedies at once, which he claims helped & inspired him to be an even better linebacker. So of course everyone was praising him for going through 2 deaths & still becoming a first draft pick.......

until the secret got out. there was no dying girlfriend. there was no girlfriend with cancer. there was no girlfriend. he fooled everyone....However, he's 'claiming' now he was the victim of a 'catfish' incident but you can decide that on your own.

Personally, I think he's full of shit & what bothers me the most is how EASY it was for him to lie to everyone for over 2 years. 

It just goes to show that even if you think you know someone, in reality you may not know them at all. That's why it's funny with blogging sometimes because yeah sure you think you know all these people writing about their lives but then again look how simple it is to make up a story? 

& It's even easier to lie when it's online...I am sure you have all seen the MTV show 'Catfish'...everyone is getting fooled on that show...so how do we know in blogland we're not getting fooled?

she's guilty!

i know it's the weekend & I usually don't post but I had some exciting news that I just had to share with you guys PLUS a special treat! so it's been something I have wanted to do for awhile but I was always working & really couldn't afford doing it but since things have changed I am finally going to take the leap.....i'm going back to school to be a preschool teacher!!! PLUS because I already have my degree I don't have to take that many classes, so it's not gonna take me long at all...I can't even express into words how psyched I am! However, it has been awhile since I was back in school....i wonder if i'll be totally outta date with my notebook & pencil? I told you 2013 was going to be my biiiitchh

Maxx is pretty excited about it too!


andddd this weekend was also exciting because my facebook page reached 1,000 likes!!! I know a lot of you don't use facebook pages that much anymore but I still get a lot of traffic from it, plus I think it's another great way to connect with everyone.

2. I take about four selfies a year that I rotate around. Don't worry, they're all gems.

3. 98% of what I say is bullshit.

This is true, I did write an ironic childrens book called A Bottle For You, A Bottle For Me.

It's ironic in the fact it's called a childrens book, but I wouldn't recommend reading it to children.

After watching my then six-month-old nephew, Knox, for five days (five really long days)

I wrote a book about the joys of babyhood,

from the point of view of an outsider looking in.

He's a real diva.

Well, this is a hard one because I write a daily blog about my life....

So I don't have a lot of secrets.

But if I had to choose one thing I guess I would have to say that I really hate cursive handwriting.

It seriously pisses me off. Especially when writing checks.

Granted I don't write checks anymore, but I remember.

And when I figure out which group of pretentious third graders invented it so help me God...

Kelly says, "it's your last day on earth, what do you do?"

I think I would probably spend it googling "how to survive your last day on earth."

Which would mean I would get sidetracked on Facebook at some point looking at photos

of people I hardly know.

Especially old high school classmates, those are always entertaining.

So yeah, I would probably (unintentionally) end up spending my last day on earth browsing Facebook.

I lala loveee this trend! It is so girly & fun! I have always been obsessed with tulle in general & never really thought about wearing tulle in the everyday. Who says tutus just have to be for little girls in ballet right!? What I love even more about this trend is it doesn't have to be strictly for weddings or worn to some fancy event. As seen in the pictures above you can dress it down with a jean chambray shirt, tank top or just a simple tee. This trend can be worn in both fall & summer depending on what color tutu you wear & what you put with it. This is one trend I defiantly need to get my hands on & I look forward to trying it this summer! Would you try the tutu trend?

It's your last day on earth, what do you do? 

My very last day on earth would probably involve a lot of crying. And the only people I would want to cry with would be my family. As much as I would love to say that I would spend my last day in some crazy, exotic place bungee jumping or eating large quantities of Oreos, if it was truly my last day on earth I would be wanting to just spend a happy, peaceful time with my family and feel of all their love in one place. Also, I would hope that I already ate large quantities of Oreos before then anyways. :)

What is the story behind your blog name? 

I went through a few other blog names before I settled on "And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson." When I decided on the name I was kind of going through a hard time and wanted my blog to be an honest and genuine representation of my life, not something that just sounded cute & painted a perfect picture. Then one day, when I was kind of emotional, the Simon & Garfunkel song "Mrs. Robinson" came on the radio and the line that says "And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson, Jesus loves you more than you will know" just kind of hit me at that moment.  {And it wasn't because I was having an affair with a younger graduate student ;)}. I have always loved the song and really love Simon & Garfunkel so it all just kind of seemed to fit together perfectly to use that line for my new blog name. I feel like it captures the feel of my blog and allows me the freedom to be truly genuine. Plus I feel like it's pretty unique so it's all a win-win [win]!

What's one thing we don't know about you that you think we should? 

There are probably a lot of things that would surprise you to know about me. Like how I'm scared to look in mirrors in the dark, I have a slight obsession with all things sparkly & full of glitter, I know the High School Musical dance {and even choreographed more to it for a talent show.... when I was 18, ha!}, and don't know how to open Capri Suns. But maybe something that you should know that isn't as embarrassing to me as those other facts is that I am a very sensitive, emotional person. I feel things so deeply and have been like that ever since I was young. If I saw a stray dog in the neighborhood I would go to my parent crying and begging to pick it up because I was scared of what might happen to it. I have avoided certain {Disney} movies because they are too hard for me to watch. And when I hear of or see other people's trials and struggles, it deeply pains me as if they were my own. A lot of times I feel so very weak because of this quality, like I can't handle hardships or life well. But I know that other times it is also a blessing and I feel like that is one of the reasons why I was drawn to blogging. [That and I talk a lot, obviously. :)]

MINI Project REVEAL!

the time has finally come!!! the reveal of my newest project the MINI!!! but first let me rewind -----so as many of you know I host the one & only #TheMessyProject which is about everyone coming together, thinking outside the box & having fun with fashion. When I first started it back in July I never knew it was going to be as big & popular as it has become! I mean I am booked through the rest of the year! And seriously I couldn't be more happy, excited, shocked about it. I lala LOVE this project. Not only because its focus is my true love - fashion - but because I love how many of you have already stepped outside of your skin & tried something new fashion wise. ...ie. helllllo sequin shorts Of course I wish I could do 2 Messy Projects a month but if you knew how much work goes into just one project you'd see why I can't..some of you already know.....so one night as I was chatting with my mom about #TheMessyProject I told her I wanted to do something else, same theme, so that more people can play along. We brainstormed ideas. We went back & forth until we thought of something that seemed to click. But of course being the type of person that I am I wanted to see what a few other bloggers would think of the idea - so I ran it by this girl & this girl. They both loved the idea. So then came the name....& since this new project is basically the baby to #TheMessyProject the MINI messy project was born...or MINI project for shortsooo what is the MINI project you ask?! well if you haven't guessed it yet its allllllll about the mini parts of fashion - the ACCESSORIES...which can also play a huge role in our everyday outfits. Just like clothes, accessories are also worn differently by each person depending on their style, shape, look etc. The MINI project will focus only on accessories....but I don't mean just jewelry - tights, hats, sunglasses, headbands, bows, scarfs, shoes, belts, gloves are alllll accessories as well. The MINI project will run the exact same way as #TheMessyProject however it will only consist of 3 girls, 4 including me & will be starting out at $20.Like before -

Now of course I could have gone tradional with the scarf & tie it around my neck in some fun way but since both of these projects are about challenging yourself & stepping outside of the box I decided to spice it up a little & take you all back to the 1970s.

As you can see I took this scarf and decided to turn it into a head piece. The scarf had such beautiful bright colors that I wanted to dress around that. So I paired it with a yellow tank to match the yellow in the scarf. Since I was going for a hippy look I added big hoop earrings & a long cross necklace. Along with my wood heels....& because I like to be embracing the mess this is 4 day old hair & i have no makeup on.  

If you want to try one of your scarfs around your head it's super easy. I just folded it together, put it around my forehead & tied a big knot in the back. So what do you think of the scarf around my head? Do you think you would try something like this?
